Technological University Dublin Announces Search For Next President
Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin), Ireland's largest technological university, has announced a search for a new President. The successful candidate will lead Ireland's second-largest Higher Education Institution during a time of profound sectoral change.
Since its establishment in 2019 as Ireland’s first Technological University, TU Dublin has rapidly become a key player in the Irish higher education landscape. The merger of three institutions - Dublin Institute of Technology, Institute of Technology Tallaght, and Institute of Technology Blanchardstown - has resulted in a vibrant community of approximately 28,500 students and over 3,000 staff members. TU Dublin now boasts the largest intake of students through the CAO system, a testament to its growing influence and appeal.
As President, the successful appointee will be the University’s chief officer and accountable person, complying with the code of practice for the governance of public bodies. Reporting to the Governing Body and working within the legislative framework of the Technological Universities Act 2018 and the Higher Education Act 2022, the successful appointee will be an exceptional and genuine leader, possessing excellent networking, communication, collaboration and analytical skills. They will also be a highly regarded scholar with a demonstrated record as a committed, thoughtful, effective and enthusiastic academic leader who can translate bold ideas into reality.
