10-11am Promoting communication
We communicate constantly, yet sometimes communication breaks down and we find ourselves misunderstood or not being able to say what we mean. Luckily you can learn how to communicate more clearly and effectively whether it be with your spouse, kids, boss, or co-workers, you can improve the communication skills that enable you to effectively connect with others, build trust and respect, and feel heard and understood. In fact, the quality of our relationships often depends on the quality of our communication. This seminar will help you understand how through communication we impact our relationships.
12-1 pm Conflict resolution
Have you ever had a disagreement with a co-worker? More than likely you probably have at one time or another. This can be a challenge and can remain unresolved. Workplace conflicts are very common and there are very few offices where all the employees get along, so it is almost inevitable. Unmanaged or poorly managed conflict in the workplace leads to reduced teamwork, cooperation, productivity and quality, as well as diminished employee commitment and morale leading to increased stress. Effectively managed conflict can have a healthy, positive effect on you and your colleagues.
This seminar will address how to promote positive relations and resolve conflict in the workplace.
2-3pm Optimise your mental wellbeing
Our mental wellbeing is so important in todays society, and it often feels like our mental health comes second to the demands life puts on us. Our mood often takes the hit when life’s stressors come knocking, and stress, anxiety and depression are included in some of the primary causes of people missing work through illness.
This seminar will address how to optimise our mental wellbeing, regulate our mood and will address the most common issues. The seminar will provide strategies to manage our mood day to day and inform us how to best deal with life stressors without getting stuck in a rut!
TU Dublin Wellbeing Book Club
TU Dublin Wellbeing Book Club- the last Wednesday of the the last Wednesday of the month.
Next Session taking place on Wednesday 28th June Online at 1-2pm:
Brené Brown’s pioneering work uncovered a profound truth: Vulnerability--the willingness to show up and be seen with no guarantee of outcome--is the path to more love, belonging, creativity, and joy. Living a brave life is not always easy: We are, inevitably, going to stumble and fall or fail. Our stories of struggle can be big ones, like the loss of a job or the end of a relationship, or smaller ones, like a conflict with a friend or colleague. Regardless of magnitude or circumstance, the rising strong process is the same: We reckon with our emotions and get curious about what we're feeling; we rumble with our stories until we get to a place of truth; and we live this process, every day, until it becomes a practice and creates nothing short of a revolution in our lives.
