BT Sourced partners with TU Dublin to create a new postgraduate certificate for procurement professionals
BT Sourced Procurement Academy Launch: Elevating Expertise, Empowering Futures
BT Sourced, BT Group’s procurement unit, has launched a new postgraduate certificate for procurement professionals, in partnership with the Technological University Dublin. This innovative programme is the result of a collaboration with BT Sourced and TU Dublin’s Faculty of Business that was brokered by TU Dublin’s Enterprise Academy.
The Certificate in Applied Procurement Management has been designed for procurement professionals to enhance their skills and to enable them to help drive innovation and change across BT Sourced and the wider BT Group. Investing in the professional development of BT Sourced colleagues, will help to strengthen the future skills of the organisation, ensuring it remains at the forefront of an increasingly competitive market.
Those completing the course will gain first-hand experience of supply chain optimisation and procurement management practices and the programme aims to equip colleagues with the latest knowledge and skills in procurement management, leading to more efficient processes, better supplier relationships and enhanced decision-making. This programme not only benefits BT Sourced, but it also raises the industry's benchmark for best practices in procurement. The Investment & Development Agency (IDA) has co-funded and been involved in the development of the programme.
Cyril Pourrat - Chief Procurement Officer at BT Group said:
“I am proud to be able to play a part in this inaugural Procurement Academy programme with the help and experience of the Technological University Dublin team and by no small means the investment and assistance of the IDA. I would like to acknowledge and thank them for all the work they put in to get this tailored certificate across the line. This programme presents an invaluable opportunity for our procurement professionals to enhance their capabilities and drive innovation and change across BT Sourced”.
Throughout the co-design process led by the Enterprise Academy, it was clear that this programme constitutes an important building block in BT Sourced’s mission to redefine procurement for this world-leading communications company. The drive to build a more digital, sustainable business model for BT Group’s multi-billion procurement spend informed the curriculum design, but also the project work that company executives will undertake to drive best and next practice at BT Sourced.
