Trevor Purtill is the Manager of Collaboratory, a new Cyber Security-focused innovation, technology and industry solutions hub from Technological University Dublin. He has a strong track record in programme and project management and research funding procurement, especially in relation to EU-funded research projects. He has been a key member of management teams responsible for managing such projects. The Collaboratory is co-funded by Enterprise Ireland and is located within the Learning & Innovation Centre (LINC) at the TU Dublin Blanchardstown Campus. The hub will become a catalyst for regional and national innovation and be a key enabler of and conduit for collaboration between industry and the University by making accessible the University’s academic expertise, research and development capabilities, technical facilities and resources in a supported, curated and collaborative manner. The hub will feature state of the art facilities such as an industry-scale Security Operations Centre (SOC) training environment, an Internet of Things testbed, an AI computing lab, and prototyping lab. The Collaboratory aims to develop structured and accredited training and bespoke training solutions in Cyber Security for industry.
Additionally, the hub will prepare industry partners to address the threat that emerges when AI and IoT advancements are vulnerable to or threatened by cybercrime.
