Research Masters
The Unwanted Gift: A case study of the impact of dyslexia on a creative mind.
Aisling is currently doing a Research Masters with TU Dublin under the supervision of Dr Eamon Maher. Her research examines the connections, impact and effects of dyslexia on the creative mind. Her MA will employ autoethnography in analysing her educational, professional and creative life-journey. Examples of the creative process will be included where appropriate to demonstrate the connections between theory and practice.
Aisling is an Assistant Lecturer in TU Dublin in the area of Graphic Design and Design Studies. She brings over 20 years of design industry experience to the class room, half of which she spent overseas in California and Edinburgh. Before joining TU Dublin she was a Creative Director of a leading Irish design consultancy. Aisling qualified as an Arts in Group Facilitator for CIT in 2010 and brings these engaging teaching skills to her role as a lecturer today.
Aisling is also an established fine artist in print-making and long-time member of the Graphic Studio Dublin. She has exhibited her print-making nationally and internationally, including at the RHA and RUA. In 2007 she had a successful solo exhibition titled ‘Sentient’. She continues her practice and participates in group exhibitions annually.
