Tom is Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Technological University Dublin, Director of the Institute for Minority Entrepreneurship, Adjunct Professor at the University of Turku (Finland), and Visiting Professor at Universidad Panamericana (Guadalajara campus, Mexico). He is a former President of the International Council for Small Business (2012-13) and of the European Council for Small Business (2009-11), plus he was Chair of the ICSB 2014 World Entrepreneurship Conference. He is Honorary President of Feiyang Entrepreneurship Research Institute (China), Global Associate at the Center for Science and Commercial Diplomacy (Denmark) and has received honours as EntreComp Champion (European Commission), Fellow of the European Council for Small Business, Wilford L. White Fellow (Global Award), and Honorary Life Member of the Small Enterprise Association of Australia and New Zealand (SEAANZ). He is a policy advisor to Governments, European Commission, OECD and other international organisations. He is a Director of four enterprises and works in various capacities with a range of businesses.
