Joanna Kossykowska is a final year PhD student at TU Dublin, Ireland. Her doctoral dissertation is on the lived experience of acculturation and transnationalism of two generations of Polish migrants in Ireland. In her research, she used Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis to uncover her participants' experiences of living in the host country, their connections with Poland, and the emotional aspects of their family relationships. She received a bachelor's honour degree in business and management and a master's degree in international business from the Dublin Institute of Technology. Her Master’s thesis was titled "The meaning of working among employees from different countries". This dissertation enhanced her interest in first- and second-generation migrants' acculturation process and transnational connections. She is deeply interested in migration patterns, psychological acculturation, migrants' identity and bilingualism.
