About
Conor Conran joined AHFR in September 2012, while he was studying part-time for his Masters Degree.
Following completion of his undergraduate studies in Dundalk Institute of Technology in 1998, Conor worked in the broadcast engineering field in the Middle East and in the Former Soviet Union. Between 2000 and 2006 he worked on a number of mobile cellular, broadband wireless access and fixed microwave engineering projects in Ireland.
He joined the Commission for Communications Regulation (ComReg) in 2006, where he worked in the areas of Radio Spectrum Management and RF Compliance Engineering. During this time he also represented Ireland at several international regulatory and spectrum working groups within the European Commission and CEPT, where he served as a national expert in the areas of spectrum engineering, satellite and terrestrial radio communication systems.
In 2014 he joined the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), where he now works as a Senior ITU Expert in Radio Frequency Monitoring, and as a spectrum advisor to the national regulatory authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (CITC).
Conor's external interests include part-time academic research into circular-polarised implantable antenna designs for use in active medical implant devices, as well as HF radio communications.
