Panel - Diversity and Intercultural Inclusion in the University
This event is the final output of the Project Diversity and Intercultural Inclusion in Hospitality (D&ICIH), an EDI-Funded Project from TU Dublin. This research looked to understand the challenges and career pathways of migrant workers in food and beverage services in TU Dublin campuses, looking to promote awareness of these challenges and promote the integration of workers in campus activities.
The organised panel looks to promote a conversation related to the cultural inclusion of migrant workers in hospitality in TU Dublin campuses, focusing on bringing awareness to cultural differences, challenges and barriers migrant workers face in work. It aims to bring visibility to the different trajectories and challenges migrant workers also face when moving and working in another country, especially migrant women, raising awareness of the well-being of workers and discussing equality, diversity and inclusion in Ireland. It also aims to discuss ways of promoting the integration of university hospitality workers into campuses’ different activities, such as participation in TU Dublin events, and possibilities of educational opportunities in the university.
