Dr. Steven Davy is the Research Centre Manager and strategic director at the Centre for Sustainable Digital Technologies at Technological University Dublin, with over 20 years of experience in the field. Dr. Davy has gained expertise in sustainable artificial intelligence in edge and IoT environments, leveraging split computing and split AI, making him a renowned expert in his field.
Dr. Davy earned his BA Mod Hons in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin in 2003 and subsequently pursued his passion for research by obtaining his PhD from Waterford Institute of Technology in 2008. Throughout his career, he has held various positions, including a postdoctoral research fellow, senior research fellow, and head of division at the TSSG at WIT. In 2022 he worked as a Senior Research Scientist at Huawei Ireland Research Centre before returning to TU Dublin in 2023 to continue his work in sustainable digital technologies.
As a mentor and supervisor, Dr. Davy has successfully supervised and graduated Masters students and PhD students. Currently, he is directly supervising and co-supervising 7 PhD students. Dr. Davy's vision for research supervision is to create a dynamic and multidisciplinary environment for students to explore new ideas and techniques while receiving professional skills training.
