Following a career in advertising and marketing at a national and international level, Donal excelled in winning creative awards in Ireland and globally, while lecturing in creative psychology, broadcasting and journalism. 

He began his counseling studies in All Hallows, Dublin in 1994, then graduated with a Diploma in Professional Psychotherapy from the Tivoli Institute. Entering private practice he completed further Diplomas in Gestalt Therapy and Life Coaching. A HDip followed in Integrative Counseling and Psychotherapy from the Turning Point Institute and a BA from the Psychology Institute where Donal lectured and practiced as a psychotherapist and group facilitator. 

Donal has worked in the One in Four Clinic as a psychotherapist and group facilitator. He later completed a HDip and a Masters in Supervisor Practices at the Milltown Institute. He currently practices as a psychotherapist and supervisor in the Orwellness Clinic in Dublin.  Donal is a member The Irish Association of Counseling and Psychotherapy, and The Supervisors Association of Ireland. 

Donal’s PhD research pertains to exploring a potential therapeutic model that blends the professional philosophy of personalism with contemporary Irish psychotherapy in integrative clinical praxis.
