I have always had a great interest in exploring the use of physical activity to promote wellbeing and academic attainment. I graduated as a physical education and biology teacher in 2008 and I completed a PhD in 2017 investigating the relationship between obesity and motor coordination with a particular focus on fine motor skill development. I currently lecture on a BA programme in Sports Management and Coaching which has allowed me to combine my interests in education, sport and health. My current research interests include fine motor skills, the relationship between physical education and wellbeing provision in secondary schools, and academic achievement and emotional intelligence development for sports coaches.
