Project Title: Developing a Framework to Support the Deployment and Evaluation of Government Policy Objectives Through the Adoption of Building Information Modeling: A Study of Stakeholder Experiences
Supervisors: Dr. Mark Mulville, Dr. Barry McAuley, Dr. Ahmed Hassan and Prof. Roger West
After graduating with dual undergraduate degrees in Construction LinkedIn Management and Construction Information and International Management (focusing on International Contracts and BIM), my interest in innovations within the construction sector was significantly heightened. This academic background laid the groundwork for my subsequent research, which aims to explore the complex interplay between governmental policy objectives and the strategic application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in Ireland. This research is driven by a visionary goal: to develop a robust framework that will not only aid Ireland in achieving its policy targets but also support the ambitious Irish Project 2040 and adhere to the 2024 BIM mandate.
The role of BIM in the Architecture, Construction, and Engineering (AEC) sector is central to my study. Recognized as a complex decision-making process, BIM adoption is influenced by a wide array of factors and drivers, all of which are interconnected and collectively affect the achievement of various objectives.
In addition to my research, I have been an active participant in the BRICKS community since 2022, contributing to the skill competition on BIM. My involvement has also extended to being the main author of the English version of the BIM technical standards for this competition. This multifaceted journey reflects my dedication to advancing BIM practices and fostering innovation within the construction industry.
