TU Dublin Establishes 21 Research Centres to Tackle Global Challenges
Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin) is proud to announce the establishment of 21 designated Research Centres aligned to its 5 distinctive research priorities. This prestigious recognition underscores the excellence in research and collaborative innovation demonstrated by these centres, enhancing TU Dublin’s reputation as a leading institution for research and innovation.
The designated centres encompass a wide range of disciplines and are multidisciplinary in nature. They are united by a shared commitment to advancing knowledge and addressing critical societal, technological, and industrial challenges. Through their innovative work, these centres will contribute significantly to the university's mission of pushing the boundaries of knowledge and fostering a culture of research excellence. This initiative not only strengthens TU Dublin's research and innovation capacity but also positions these centres to make impactful contributions that resonate on both national and global scales.

All of the submissions we received were high-quality, reflecting the strength and diversity of research and innovation taking place across TU Dublin. The 21 successful centres demonstrated significant expertise, potential and ambition in their respective disciplines and fields. The designation will provide them with recognition and support needed to continue driving innovation and creativity, to expand their impact on society, and to contribute to the university’s research priorities.
The designation will allow each centre to build on its previous successes, leveraging the resources and support provided by TU Dublin to continue pushing the frontiers of research. In addition, they will be empowered to pursue new collaborations, secure funding for transformative projects, and create meaningful impact in their respective fields.
The 21 centres will now embark on a new phase of their development, fully supported by TU Dublin’s Research & Innovation Strategy 2023-2028. With access to new funding opportunities and collaborative networks, these centres are well-positioned to make significant contributions to their fields on both national and global levels.
