TU Dublin awarded ‘HR Excellence in Research’ award

Published: 26 Feb, 2024

TU Dublin is delighted to announce that we have been successfully awarded the ‘HR Excellence in Research’ (HRS4R) accreditation award.

The award indicates that our University’s HR practices are aligned with those of the European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for Recruitment of Researchers.

The award recognises that TU Dublin aims to promote and deliver a stimulating and favourable work environment for researchers. It recognises that the University is committed to this ISO style process of continual improvement in terms of its HR practices, policies, and procedures.

The application process to the European Commission took 12 months, with several documents to be submitted, including a detailed internal gap analysis of the EU 40 Principles, plus an initial 2-year Action Plan.

The formal application for the 'HR Excellence in Research Award' from the European Commission was submitted in January this year, and we are delighted that we have now been certified by the EU Commission Office, who said:

“The award reflects TU Dublin’s commitment to continuously improve their human resource policies in line with the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, notably their commitment to achieve fair and transparent recruitment and appraisal procedures.”

Research PIs can refer to the ‘HR Excellence in Research’ award and use its logo in their promotional materials for research and mention this in upcoming grant applications as appropriate. More here.

Congratulations to the HRS4R project team and all those who participated and assisted in the application process.
