TU Dublin ARISE Team Engages with Minister James Lawless at Kildare’s Big Business Show
Two of the TU Dublin ARISE Business Development Managers, Brian Walsh and Sudeepth Nair, recently had the opportunity to meet with Minister James Lawless, the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, at Kildare’s Big Business Show. ARISE serves as a key initiative at TU Dublin, fostering collaboration between the University and enterprises to drive research and innovation.
The Big Business Show organised by Kildare County Council’s Local Enterprise Office provides an ideal environment for individuals to gain insights into the necessary tools and resources to start and grow successful businesses. As part of Local Enterprise Week, the event featured five focused sessions aimed at tackling current trends and challenges in the business world. The event, held at the MERITS Innovation Centre in Naas, proved to be an invaluable platform for discussions aimed at fostering innovation and strengthening collaboration across multiple sectors.
During the event, Brian Walsh and Sudeepth Nair took the opportunity to highlight the role of TU Dublin ARISE in supporting startups, promoting collaboration between academia and industry, and facilitating cutting-edge research initiatives. ARISE, which is part of the TU RISE programme co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union, focuses on fostering strong relationships between TU Dublin researchers and businesses, particularly those in Ireland’s Eastern and Midlands region.
The ARISE programme aims to bridge the gap between research and industry by helping businesses harness the latest innovations and technologies to gain a competitive edge. By promoting collaborations between academia and enterprises, ARISE plays a crucial role in the development of new products, processes, and solutions that help businesses thrive in a rapidly evolving market. As Ireland strives toward its Impact 2030 target to become a global innovation leader, ARISE is an essential contributor to driving forward Ireland’s innovation ecosystem.
