Highlights from the Innovation Office in 2023.

TU Dublin Spin-Out Micron Agritech Secures €2.7 Million Funding

Micron Agritech, an agricultural technology company and TU Dublin Spin-Out supported by the Innovation Office agricultural raised €2.7 million in funding co-led by ACT VC, Atlantic Bridge and Yield Lab Europe, positioning itself for further expansion in both the Irish and UK markets. With a cumulative funding of €5 million to date, the spin-out from TU Dublin is dedicated to revolutionising rapid animal health testing through the innovative use of AI technology in its Micron Kit.

Speaking about the announcement, Dr Paul Maguire; Head of Innovation and Knowledge Transfer, “Universities are uniquely placed to explore complex problems in society, and the impact of knowledge transfer activities at TU Dublin is evident across our society and in the health and well-being of our people. Micron Agritech started as a final year project that has now raised Eur5m and employs 16 highly skilled jobs, operating both from the Greenway Hub on the Grangegorman Campus and from their first overseas office in Wales. TU Dublin One to Watch (2022) Spinning out in Q1 2024

Margins Ai is a TU Dublin spin-out developing a B2B plug-and-play AI solution that predicts optimal pricing in the context of competitor activity, market dynamics, seasonality and consumer behaviour, addressing the competitiveness of the SMEs in the E-commerce sector. After winning the 'One to Watch,' Award at the TU Dublin Innovation 15 Years Celebration, the company will now spin out in Early 2024.

 

TU Dublin One to Watch (2023) Approved for Comms Fund 

Winner of the 'One to Watch,' Award at the Inaugural TU Dublin Research and Innovation Awards - Dr Kieran Collins & Fiona Ryan (Propeller Project) were awarded an Enterprise Ireland Comms Fund to explore and develop AI to predict an athletes performance in sport.
