12 TU Dublin Businesses Selected for Enterprise Ireland 2021 'Hot 100 Start-ups' list

Enterprise Ireland has released the 2021 'Hot 100 Start-ups' list in collaboration with The Business Post, showcasing emerging Irish companies set for global success.

Twelve start-ups working with Hothouse, the LINC and The Synergy Centre or incubating at TU Dublin have been selected for this prestigious list. The companies are a mix of New Frontiers Alums, Incubator Clients and TU Dublin Spinouts.

4Securitas (New Frontiers Alum)

4Securitas is an innovative cyber security firm focused on protecting critical data at the core of every organisation. The company develops and commercialises ACSIA XDR Plus (Automated Cyber Security Intelligence Application) an extended detection and response solution, based on Open-Source technology and affordable to large and SME companies alike.

Change Donations (New Frontiers Alum)

Change Donations is the only Irish-based micro-donation company helping charities and non-profits connect with a younger generation of donors. Their platform allows donors to link their debit card, round up their transactions to the next euro and donate their digital change to causes they care about.

Danu Sports (New Frontiers & Incubator Client)

A disruptive start-up that provides an award-winning, wearable gait analysis system for injury & performance analysis in the sports and medical industries. Danu Sports have developed a pair of smart socks & gait analysis software that provides the same level of accuracy as the lab-based competitors but without the restrictions of lab-based analysis.

 

Examfly (New Frontiers Alum)

Examfly is an education technology start-up which is transforming the learning model for professional exams and continuous professional development. Examfly combines interactive technologies with proven techniques from education psychology to create a new and better learning experience.

 

fiid (Incubator Client)

Fiid crafts a range of versatile plant-based meal bowls that are ready in minutes. Think delicious, natural, wholefood dishes like chillies and curries but without the mess or prep it takes to cook them from scratch. They're perfect to eat on their own or use them as a base by adding whatever you have in your kitchen - other veggies, rice or pasta; the options are endless! Stored in your cupboard or pantry for up to 18 months, fiid is a gamechanger when it comes to prepping everyday meals.

 

Glimpse (New Frontiers Alum)

Glimpse has developed an IoT solution that is added to a physical retail premises that surveys shoppers and delivers online, actionable meta-data. Glimpse can be retro-fit to any store or premises, installation takes only 15* minutes, no Wi-Fi or network cables required.

 

Izzy Wheels (New Frontiers Alum)

Izzy Wheels was founded by Irish sisters Ailbhe and Izzy Keane. The idea was inspired by Izzy who was born with Spina Bifida and is paralysed from her waist down. Izzy has always seen her wheelchair as a symbol of freedom but never felt it expressed her personality. Ailbhe created a range of colourful wheel covers for her sister's chair as her final year project in The National College of Art and Design (NCAD) in 2016.

 

Kianda (New Frontiers Alum & Incubator Client)

Kianda provide a user-friendly, no-code application development platform empowering business user with or without coding skills to create enterprise technology to automate business processes. Their automation technology inspires business users, knowledge workers to address their digitalisation needs themselves without writing a single line of code. Kianda allows companies to jump straight into building solutions rather than building systems from scratch that require substantial business resources.

MedModus (Incubator Client)

MedModus™ provide comprehensive cloud-based BI, performance improvement and scheduling solutions to hospitals and other healthcare organisations. We are passionate about using analytics, software and change management to improve quality of care. We pride ourselves on measurable benefit delivery.

Micron AgriTech (TU Dublin Spinout and Incubator Client)

'Micron Agritech is an Irish Start-up founded in 2019 by Sean Smith, Daniel Izquierdo, Tara McElligott and Jose Lopez while they were undergraduates at TU Dublin. They spun-out of the university with their revolutionary parasite testing technology. Initially, development of Micron Kit was funded with competition prize money that the team had won and with Competitive Start-up Funding from Enterprise Ireland. The founders went on to showcase their award-winning tech at Europe's largest agricultural show, the Irish National Ploughing Championships in 2019. Since then, the Micron Agritech team has expanded to a total of 10 people, and they have raised a seed round of €500,000. The funding will be used to bring Micron Kit, Micron Agritech's rapid on-site parasite detection test, to market.'

Snapfix (New Frontiers Alum)

Snapfix is a simple platform designed for task management, asset management, planned maintenance and reactive maintenance. It uses photos, tags, messages and traffic lights to keep you and your team highly organised and efficient. Their clients are some of the largest brands in the world, including Hilton, OCS, The InterContinental, and many more. Snapfix was established in 2019, our headquarters are in Dublin, Ireland, with offices in New York.'

Wellola (New Frontiers Alum)

'Wellola's patient portal offers hospitals and clinics the opportunity to revolutionise how they care for and communicate with their patients, handling real-time scheduling for in-person and online care, and ongoing correspondence in a manner that is GDPR- compliant, low cost and branded to their needs, resulting in substantial savings for that hospital and an improved healthcare experience for the patient.
