TU Dublin Students Tackle Global Challenges in Transnational Entrepreneurship Project
TU Dublin’s School of Global Business has joined forces with Algonquin College’s School of Business and Applied Research in Ottawa, Canada, to deliver an exciting Transnational Collaborative Student Entrepreneurship Project. This initiative, supported by GrowthHub funding, is led by TU Dublin faculty members Anne-Marie Nolan and Lucy McKeown and offers students a unique opportunity to apply their learning in a real-world, global context.
After a 12-month planning and development process, the project officially launched at TU Dublin’s Blanchardstown Campus in February. Participating students from TU Dublin’s Bachelor of Business, Erasmus, and Digital Marketing programmes will team up with peers from Algonquin College to form international, cross-disciplinary teams.
Learning Beyond Borders
The core challenge? Developing an innovative product, service, or technology designed for the social enterprise sector. Throughout the semester, students will engage in live, interactive sessions facilitated by academic staff from both institutions—collaborating across time zones, cultures, and perspectives.
The project will culminate in a final pitch event on April 1st, where student teams will present their ideas to a panel of judges from Dublin and Ottawa, mirroring real-world business challenges in a competitive, high-stakes setting.
Real-World Impact, Real-World Skills
By participating in this transnational initiative, students will develop and apply critical business and entrepreneurial skills, including:
- Creativity & Innovation – Turning ideas into impactful solutions
- International Collaboration – Working across cultures and disciplines
- Networking & Research – Engaging with industry insights and market needs
- Presentation & Pitching – Gaining confidence in business communication
This hands-on, real-world project demonstrates TU Dublin’s commitment to experiential learning, ensuring that students don’t just study business theory, but actively apply it in a global, professional environment.
