TU Dublin Lecturer and Graduate Elected to SEFI Board of Directors
TU Dublin is proud to announce that both Lecturer and Programme Chair, Dr. Shannon Chance, and graduate Darren Carthy have been elected to the Board of Directors for the European Society for Engineering Education (SEFI). SEFI is Europe’s largest network of engineering educators, dedicated to advancing education research and improving teaching practices. TU Dublin hosted the annual SEFI conference in 2023, organized under the leadership of Dr. Ger Reilly.
Shannon, a member of TU Dublin’s Discipline of Architecture, has been actively involved with SEFI since 2012. In addition to her role at TU Dublin, she serves as Deputy Editor for SEFI’s European Journal of Engineering Education and has played a leadership role in several of SEFI’s special interest groups. Darren, an Engineers Ireland representative and 2021 TU Dublin PhD graduate, has been part of various activities with Shannon via the university’s CREATE research group.
Dr. Chance and Carthy’s election strengthens TU Dublin’s presence in the global conversation on engineering education, supporting SEFI’s mission to enhance teaching and research in the field.
