TU Dublin Culinary Student Wins Prestigious Young Chef Award in India
TU Dublin Culinary Arts student Sam Hutzler has won a gold medal and the prestigious title of Overall Young Chef Ambassador at the World Young Chef Olympiad in India. This highly competitive international event saw student chefs from 59 countries showcase their skills over five days in five major Indian cities: New Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Goa, and Kolkata.
Reflecting on his remarkable achievement, Sam described the experience as "a massive honour to be awarded trophies and medals at such a high level." His dedication, talent, and passion for culinary arts were recognised with the esteemed ambassadorial title, highlighting his leadership and commitment to the profession.
Expressing his gratitude, Sam acknowledged the unwavering support of his mentor, George Smith, his fellow students, and friends, saying: “This was truly the trip of a lifetime, where I had the opportunity to make new friends with fellow young chefs from around the world.”
