World’s Leading Business Case Competition Comes to TU Dublin
This week, dozens of the best undergraduate business students from across the globe will converge on Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin) to compete in the world’s leading business case competition.
First hosted in Ireland by TU Dublin’s Faculty of Business in Aungier Street in 2007, the Network of International Business Schools (NIBS) International Case Study Competition returns to Dublin for a test of problem-solving ability, business acumen, cultural insight, communication skills, and teamwork.
TU Dublin will welcome over 100 visitors from 15 countries, including 45 students who will compete against their global rivals by analysing real-world written business cases, where they must assess the challenges facing an organisation and present recommendations to panels of senior managers, policymakers and academics. Participants will compete over five long days, with the final round taking place on Wednesday, 27 March 2024.
Speaking at the competition’s opening ceremony in Aungier Street, Roger Sherlock, Head of Discipline for Marketing at TU Dublin. “We are really excited to welcome the NIBS International Case Study Competition to Dublin, running for almost 30 years; it is the world’s longest-established global competition attracting a very high calibre of undergraduate students. Of course, TU Dublin has competed in the competition since the very beginning, and we became the first Irish business school to win the competition in 2018. We have a fantastic team representing the University in 2024 - Gina Yoon, Stephen Callaghan Kane, and Jack Burke - all Business & Management students, while our team captain is a final-year Business & Law student, Harrison Byrne.”
Team Captain Harrison Byrne said, “It is an unbelievable experience to represent Ireland in this competition and to showcase on a global scale the benefits of business undergraduate studies at TU Dublin. TU Dublin has small classes, so that offers a really engaging learning environment with lots of peer learning with classmates from different cultures and educational and working backgrounds, which is why we really excel in competitions like NIBS. We have received so much support from all our lecturers, in particular, our coach, Prof. Paul Donnelly. ”
