TU Dublin's Tallaght Campus Hosts SubSounds Music Festival for Young People Aged 14-18 - Free Entry
TU Dublin's Tallaght Campus will host an exciting free music festival for young people aged 14-18 on Saturday, 06 July from 12.30pm to 9pm.
SubSounds is a youth music collective based in Tallaght for young people aged 14-18. Since 2004, it has worked with musicians from around South Dublin County, mentoring them in the composition, arrangement, performance, and recording of original music.
This festival is a partnership between SubSounds and Music Generation local Music Education Partnerships: South Dublin County, Kildare, Fingal, Meath, Dublin City, and Wicklow. The festival is youth led and youth centred, and will feature performances by participants of projects from these six counties.
This will be the festival's second year and will feature new bands, including The Sadhbh Keane Band, Stale Bread, The SubSounds Collective and The Mockingbirds. There will be music from a variety of bands and DJs throughout the day, and we're very pleased to be able to add an open mic stage to this year's festival, which will be open to all comers. This year, the festival will be headlined by very special guests, Pillow Queens, an exciting Irish band who have just released their 3rd album, Name Your Sorrow, earlier this year.
SubSounds Youth Music Festival will take place on Saturday, 06 July, from 12.30pm to 9pm at TU Dublin, Tallaght Campus, Blessington Road D24 FKT9 Tallaght.
Tickets: Free, but booking required here.
SubSounds Youth Music Festival is co-funded by U2, The Ireland Funds, The Arts Council/An Comhairle Ealaíon and The Department of Education. The festival is funded by Music Generation, the Arts Council & South Dublin County Council Arts Office.
