TU Dublin and Available Places
Did you know that TU Dublin are one of the Irish Universities offering ‘available places’ on level 7 & 8 courses this year?
CAO ‘Available places’ are vacancies on courses for which there were insufficient eligible applicants before CAO round 1. The course places are published on the CAO website the day after Round 1 offers, on 29 August. If you didn’t get your first choice, It is worth keeping an eye out – you might still have a chance to come study at TU Dublin this September.
Key Points about Available Places:
Who can apply: Any applicant, including those who did not originally apply through the CAO, can apply for available places.
What courses are there? The courses vary each year depending on the availability and demand. They can include a range of TU Dublin disciplines, including sciences, engineering and business.
How to Check what TU Dublin courses are offering available places: Visit the CAO website (www.cao.ie) and look for the "Available Places" section and TU Dublin course codes.
How to apply: Visit CAO.ie and if one of our courses interests you, add it to your application choices. There should be no cost, but if you have not applied to the CAO previously, there might be an additional fee.
How do I get an offer? After adding a course from available places, you may then receive an offer in subsequent rounds of the CAO.
Are there entry requirements? Applicants need to meet any particular entry requirements (such as higher level Maths), and must satisfy the Minimum Entry requirements as specified on the course page.
Application for an Available Place course does not guarantee an offer for that course; you should select your TU Dublin course as your 1st preference to maximise the chance of being offered a place. Our Admissions team are available to answer queries about available places at our webinar on Monday 2 September, between 5.30pm – 6.30pm. Register here.
