TU Dublin win camogie’s Ashbourne Cup
For the first time ever, TU Dublin’s camogie players have won the inter-university Ashbourne cup overcoming coming a very strong UCC side in the final. It was an exciting night at Belfield, with no shortage of drama - the teams were neck and neck and extra time was needed to separate the two sides. TU Dublin’s Roisin McCormick from Antrim was the hero in added time of extra time, sailing a free kick over the bar in the 82nd minute. The final score was 1-11 to 0-13. The victory follows another victory for the team at the Uí Mhaolagáin Cup Final. Taking home the cup for the second time in two years was a great accomplishment.
