TU Dublin Media Graduate Crowned RTE Dancing With The Stars Champion
When RTE star Carl Mullan praised the BA in Creative Digital Media (now Media Production and Digital Arts) for giving him a broad range of skills, dancing would not have been the first to mind.
The newly-crowned Dancing with the Stars champion is a 2012 graduate of the Media Production and Digital Arts programme delivered on the University’s Tallaght Campus (Class of 2012), where he honed his production skills and presented before embarking on a media career with the national broadcaster. He said;
I really felt the benefit of the broad set of skills I had learned as part of this course. Having trained in video shooting, editing, audio recording and editing, along with a whole host of other skillsets, it meant that I could confidently walk into a job interview
Staff from the School of Media recall a dedicated and hard-working young media professional in the making. But viewers of the popular show, only familiar with Carl as a light-hearted radio presenter and comedian, got a glimpse of his determination over eleven gruelling weeks as he progressed from outsider to serious contender.
Celebrating his success on the Ryan Tubridy Show, Carl said:
I am a case in point that if you practice enough at anything, you can get to where you need to be
