TU Dublin Conservatoire Presents Irish Premiere of Jonathan Dove’s Mansfield Park
Fresh from the success of a rich programme of events in 2022, TU Dublin Conservatoire will stage its first opera in its new home of the East Quad on the University's campus in Grangegorman, Dublin 7.
The Irish premiere of Mansfield Park will be performed by students and alumni of the Conservatoire Vocal Department, directed by Vivian Coates, accompanied by the Conservatoire Chamber Ensemble and conductor David Brophy in the enchanting setting of the 18th-century novel Mansfield Park.
Based on the novel by Jane Austen, Mansfield Park is a 2011 chamber opera in two acts by Jonathan Dove with a libretto by Alasdair Middleton and follows the story of Fanny Price, who must leave her impoverished home at the age of ten to live with her wealthy aunt and uncle.
Performed in the lavish surroundings of the Concert Hall in TU Dublin's East Quad in Grangegorman, the cast features students and alumni of the TU Dublin Conservatoire Vocal Department.
