Resilient Design Curricula Update

The Resilient Design Curricula collaborative project received funding of €3.96m through the Higher Education Authority (HEA) Human Capital Initiative in 2022. It is led by TU Dublin in partnership with all schools of architecture in Ireland. The six partnering schools are committed to working together collaboratively and with the professional industry over the next three years. Their aim is to engender the knowledge and skills necessary for architects to respond to the twin challenges of the climate and housing crises whilst demonstrating the societal value of inclusive and resilient design.  

May 2022 saw the launch of the Resilient Design Curricula project by Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, Simon Harris T.D.

Semester 1, was a busy period for each of the project partners and included an in-person workshop event, a series of in-house events, site visits, and the development of:

  • Architecture Design Studio Curriculum Pilots
  • Vertical Studio projects
  • The critical needs analysis
