Welcoming Women in Engineering to TU Dublin

Published: 30 May, 2022

TU Dublin was delighted to recently host some enthusiastic women interested in engineering to Bolton Street to help them make their CAO choices.

Dr Ciara Ahern, Roisin Murray and Dr Una Beagon spoke to the students about their journeys in becoming engineers and the job satisfaction they felt when working as engineers and designing and constructing various buildings around the country.

The morning finished with an engineering challenge to allow students to showcase their problem-solving capabilities! The future is bright!

This event was organised by the WITU (Women in Technology United) Network in TU Dublin. WITU consisting of staff across TU Dublin, has come together to:

  • Retain students in technology courses
  • Increase gender diversity in technology courses

...in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and to create pathways for all. This network aims to be inclusive of all gender minority groups.
