Published: 12 May, 2022

A lecturer from the Dublin School of Architecture at TU Dublin, Miriam Delaney, is a member of the Lusk for Life: Lusk Vision 2030 team nominated for a New European Bauhaus Prizes 2022 in the 'Prioritising the places and people that need it the most' category.

The New European Bauhaus is a creative and interdisciplinary initiative that connects the European Green Deal to our living spaces and experiences, and the awards aim to highlight projects that embody the aspiration for building a more sustainable and inclusive future.

Lusk for life is a community-led Action Plan for the town of Lusk, North County Dublin, undertaken by  AP+E Architects in collaboration with Miriam Delaney (Lecturer, Dublin School of Architecture, TU Dublin) and Tara Kennedy. The project was completed in August 2021, and it provides a model for community-led urban renewal. Initiated by Lusk Community Council and supported by Dublin Rural Leader, it aims to make the best use of existing assets and latent potential in Lusk to plan for the next decade. The focus is on climate-resilient strategies, including designs and proposals for more intensive use of public and green space, active travel networks, biodiversity and densification of the historic town centre.
