TU Dublin Lecturer Wins Prestigious Structural Engineering Education Award 2022
Cian Farrell, a lecturer at the School of Civil and Structural Engineering at Technological University Dublin, has won the Institution of Structural Engineers Excellence in Structural Engineering Education Award (ESEEA) 2022
Cian was awarded for his innovative hybrid educational tool, Virtual Industry Visits, which set out to tackle the student’s accumulated barrier of little or no engagement and interaction during the recent remote learning period of Social, Mental and Educational isolation. As well as helping to bridge the gap between educational textbooks and industry intelligence, the academic approach enabled students to visualise and interpret how the concept is applied in industry reality.
