On Monday, 16 May 2022, CSinc.ie hosted over 130 girls on the University's Tallaght Campus for a coding event. It was the first of these large events on campus since the pandemic and the sense of excitement was evident.

The girls came from Kishoge Community School, Loreto Crumlin and Loreto Kilkenny ranged in age from 13 to 17 years old, and the day consisted of talks from female role models Aoibheann Mangan (@aoibheannmangan) and Tania Griffin (a TU Dublin graduate, now working in SAP).

The girls were then given an hour of exposure to coding where topics such as HTML, CSS, Javascript and Advanced Micro:bits were covered. Finally, the day ended with a talk and general discussion about Artificial Intelligence and ethics. It was amazing to be able to host this event with such an enthusiastic group of girls.
