Relay for Life for is back!

Published: 16 Feb, 2022

The Irish Cancer Society’s Relay for Life is a fundraising event that brings communities together to celebrate with cancer survivors and remember those lost to the disease.

Last year, TU Dublin raised an incredible €106,000 for the Irish Cancer Society, and with your help, we hope Relay for Life will be just as successful this year. So take up the TU Dublin Challenge - Walk/Run 5km every day in March; give yourself an hour a day!

Why are we doing it?

In 2020 alone, an estimated 44,000 people received a cancer diagnosis in Ireland, that's 120 people every day and five people every hour.

So how do you get involved?

Sign up as an individual or get a team together made up of anyone and everyone - your classmates, colleagues, friends, families or neighbours and commit to walking 5km each every day in March or 155km throughout the month. In addition, TU Dublin Sport will organise lots of walks on campus to keep you motivated on those rainy, miserable days in  March, so keep an eye out for information on local events.

How are the funds raised used?

All the funds raised through sponsorship and fundraising will support the Irish Cancer Society's national services and mission to achieve world-class cancer services, working towards fewer people getting CANCER and that those that do- have better outcomes and improved treatment.

So sign up to Relay for Life today to remember those we lost and celebrate with those that survived by raising money for life-saving research and services provided by the Irish Cancer Society.

All the information you need about setting up a team is available on our Relay for Life 2022 webpage.
