Access to Apprenticeship Applications Now Open for April 2022
TU Dublin is currently accepting applications for its Access to Apprenticeship programme, which will start in April 2022. The provisional closing date is the 21st of March.
Are you looking for an apprenticeship?
To date, 83 young people have joined a craft apprenticeship programme following the successful completion of our Access to Apprenticeship (ATA) programme. In addition, 16% of our ATA graduates are female, now forging careers as Electricians, Carpenters, Metal Fabricators, Motor Mechanics and Refrigeration & Air Conditioning technicians/craftspersons.

The Access to Apprenticeship Programme is a 12-week course for young men and women aged 16 to 24 who are experiencing social and economic barriers in accessing training or further education. ATA aims to help young people work out what apprenticeship they would like to do and find a suitable apprenticeship programme with an employer.
The programme gives young people a chance to:
- Sample a range of apprenticeships in, Construction, Engineering, Electrical, Motor and Aviation industries,
- Prepare their CV and interview skills,
- Undertake two weeks of work experience and meet with a variety of apprentice employers,
- Complete Health & Safety training.

Try a Trade Event for Young Women - Thursday, 10 March 2021
TU Dublin is also hosting a Try a Trade event for young women aged 16-24 on Thursday, 10 March - you can register for your place at the event here.
This free event provides interested young women with an opportunity to 'have a go' at craft-based apprenticeships. The activities are interactive and informative, allowing potential students to try some of the necessary skills required by Plumbing and Woodcraft apprenticeships.
