TU Dublin SU Presents Irish Cancer Society with RAG Fundraising Cheque
This year TU Dublin SU has been fundraising on behalf of the Irish Cancer Society. While it has been difficult to move all our fundraising plans online, students stepped up to the challenge brilliantly, and managed to raise more money this year than in the previous two!
20 students took part in the Fighting Cancer Championship, where they took up challenges such as cycling 400km in 4 weeks, cutting of 60cm of hair, skipping 30km in 30 days plus walking challenges, and lots more.
TU Dublin SU’s Fighting Cancer Team have raised over €9,000 this year. In addition, there were two very successful raffles that have raised €3,700. Gamers Pádraic, Patrick and Stephen raised €1,000 from our 24hr Livestream, and events like our Student Race Day, Sleepout, Relay for Life Fundraising and donations receives all added up to give a grand total of €15,647 raised for the Irish Cancer Society.
TU Dublin SU would like to thank everyone that got involved and donated this year. The response from TU Dublin students was amazing and it was heartening to see so many students support the Irish Cancer Society in a year when supporting those who need help has never been more important.
On Wednesday, 30th June incoming president of TU Dublin SU Mark O’Donnell presented the cheque to the Irish Cancer Society on the Grangegorman Campus.
We are delighted to announce that we will be fundraising on behalf of Saoirse Domestic Violence Shelter during the next academic year. We are excited to be supporting such an excellent cause and we look forward to working with you all to raise as much money as we can for them!
