Rights and the Mother and Baby Homes Report Launch
Rights and the Mother and Baby Homes Report: Reaching Different Findings - Launch Event, Wednesday 14th July 2021 - Hosted by TU Dublin.
A new research project recently brought together 25 academics to rewrite the ‘Executive Summary’ of the Mother and Baby Homes Commission of Investigation Report. The purpose of this project was to explore whether the Commission could have come to different findings, using the evidence available to it while remaining within the applicable law. The project authors conclude that the Commission had sufficient evidence before it to find multiple abuses of key human rights provisions. At this seminar, speakers will share a draft version of the rewritten ‘Executive Summary’ and explain their methodology.
The draft of the rewritten 'Executive Summary' is available here.
A feedback form is available here.
This form will be available for a number of months to allow people to digest the report and comment. The final version will be published open access in an academic journal later in the year.
