Gold and Silver British Display Society Medals for TU Dublin Visual Merchandising Students
Two final-year Visual Merchandising students at TU Dublin, Lauren O'Gorman and Jennifer Reilly, have won international British Display Society Centre of Excellence competition medals for their graduate show work.
The BA in Visual Merchandising & Display at TU Dublin is one of only seven programmes worldwide, which is recognised by the British Display Society (BDS) as a Centre of Excellence. This year, final-year students competed against their classmates and students from across the globe in the UK, Singapore and Canada in a competition organised by the BDS.
In the competition for BA in Visual Merchandising & Display students at TU Dublin, medals were awarded:
Gold - Lauren O'Gorman
Silver - Jennifer Reilly
Bronze - Lauren O'Gorman
To top that, Lauren and Jennifer also won Gold and Silver International British Display Society Centre of Excellence competition medals for their graduate work with the White Company and Dunnes Stores.
Jennifer Reilly won Silver for her installation in Dunnes Stores in the Marshes Shopping Centre in Dundalk.
Congratulating Lauren and Jennifer, Kerry Meakin, Programme Chair of the BA Visual Merchandising & Display, said, "This was a great achievement, particularly considering the difficult period of teaching and learning in the past 18 months. Both students put a lot of research into their concepts to address the pandemic, with Lauren considering the things people were dreaming that they could do to help them relax and deal with stress. Jennifer used natural dyes and recycled paper to make the pink dreamlike grasses that blew in the breeze. A big congratulations are deserved to the winners and the programme staff who worked to help them realise their potential."
