Book on Policy Analysis in Ireland Co-Edited by Dr John Hogan to be launched at an online event
A book co-edited by Dr John Hogan of TU Dublin will launch online on Thursday, March 11, from 4-5:30pm.
Policy Analysis in Ireland is part of an international series examining policy analysis approaches in different countries. The book comprises 16 chapters by leading academics and practitioners of policy analysis in Ireland. The book was published by Policy Press, Bristol University, and was co-edited by Dr John Hogan of TU Dublin and Professor Mary P. Murphy (Sociology Department, Maynooth University).
Leading Irish academics and policy practitioners present a current and comprehensive study of policy analysis in Ireland. Contributors examine policy analysis at different levels of government and governance, including international, national and local and civil service, and non-government actors such as NGOs, interest groups, and think tanks. They investigate the influential roles of the European Union, the public, science, quantitative evidence, the media and gender expertise in policy analysis.
Surveying the history and evolution of public policy analysis in Ireland, this authoritative text addresses the current state of the discipline, identifies post-crisis developments and considers future challenges for policy analysis.
The Public Policy Specialist Group of the Political Studies Association of Ireland (PSAI) will host an online book launch of Policy Analysis in Ireland on Thursday, 11 March 2021, from 4:00pm – 5.30pm.
