INDEx survey to capture digital experience in higher education
The Irish National Digital Experience (INDEx) survey is ireland’s first ever survey of the digital experience, expectations and engagement of students and teaching staff in higher educaton.
The information gathered will inform important decision-making that will influence the future enhancement of digital learning and teaching. The survey is being carried out in conjunction with the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education - it is anonymous and takes 5-10 minutes to complete.
Ireland lags behind Europe in terms of digital skills and know-how. CSO data demonstrate that students are online daily and very comfortable in the digital environment, but suggest that just over half regularly experience digital interaction and resources as part of the formal education process.
An email invitation has been sent to all TU Dublin students and staff inviting them to contribute to the sector-wide INDEx survey. The aim is to find out more about their experiences of the digital environment and their use of technology for teaching, learning and assessment. The responses will support decision making and enhance digital teaching and learning across the university, so it’s ten minutes well-spent!
