Celebrate Christmas with TU Dublin Conservatoire
With just four weeks to go, we hope you will forgive us for getting in the spirit of Christmas with a trio of delightful musical and dramatic events presented by TU Dublin Conservatoire.
Starting on Monday, 9 December, the TU Dublin Conservatoire Christmas calendar is brimming with festive cheer with something to suit all ages and tastes. Whitefriar Street Church will host the first event, Seasonal Sacred Music with TU Dublin Conservatoire Choral Society, featuring music by Bruckner, Fauré, Mendelssohn, Monteverdi, Poulenc and much more. Conducted by Simon Harden and accompanied by Caecilia Bastian, tickets cost from €6-€12 and are available from Eventbrite.
The second occasion of this Yuletide season will take place in the atmospheric surroundings of Newman's University Church Wednesday, 11 December at 7.30 pm. Conducted by Bernie Sherlock with accompaniment by Danusia Oslizok, A Festive Christmas will feature a range of traditional Christmas music featuring the angelic voices of the TU Dublin Conservatoire Chamber & Youth Choirs. The final performance from 11 - 14 December is an original theatre piece created by final-year BA Drama students at TU Dublin Conservatoire exploring relationships between food, family and business. The Family Table depicts an extended family as they sit down to their dinner. Grace is said, and food is served. But tensions in the family food business are simmering. Is there a generational power struggle going on? Why did they have to sell Cousin Zizi? And what exactly is everyone eating? Whet your appetite in the strange world of the family table.
