Bio

Dr Gráinne Hargaden is a Lecturer in Organic Chemistry at the School of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences at TU Dublin.

Gráinne completed her BSc (hons) and PhD at University College Dublin.  From 2007-2010 she was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the group of Professor Tim Donohoe at the University of Oxford, working in the area of total synthesis. During this time she was also a tutor at Magdalen College.

In 2010, Gráinne returned to Dublin and was appointed Assistant Lecturer in the School and progressed to lecturer in 2013.

She is an active member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and served as honorary secretary (Republic of Ireland Local Section) from 2013-2017.

Gráinne is an active researcher in the area of synthetic organic chemistry, with a particular focus on catalysis and medicinal chemistry. Her undergraduate teaching interests include spectroscopy, catalysis and organic synthesis.
