Last week, the School of Chemical and BioPharmaceutical Sciences at TU Dublin's Tallaght Campus was delighted to host eight enthusiastic Erasmus students and two teachers from Lycée Jean Perrin, France, for an engaging week of scientific exploration and cultural exchange. For many of the students, this marked their first experience abroad, making it an especially meaningful occasion.

The visit kicked off with a warm Irish welcome, setting the tone for a week packed with interactive talks, practical laboratory sessions, and insightful tours. The students explored fascinating topics such as space science with Kevin Nolan, sustainability with Adrienne Fleming, and forensic analysis with John Power. Practical sessions led by our dedicated team of technical officers and academic staff covered diverse areas, including microbiology, antimicrobial resistance, and biochemistry, where the students gained hands-on experience in dialysis, osmosis, and biochemical analyses.

Throughout their stay, the students' growth in confidence was clear, fostered by the supportive environment provided by our school community. Special thanks to technicians Deirdre Blanckensee, Deborah Collins, Eleana Dunne, and Aine Mc Parland, as well as Emma Caraher, Darvree Downey, Gordon Cooke, and our Head of School, Prof. Declan McCormack, whose dedication and hospitality made the visit a resounding success.

The feedback from our French visitors was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the warmth and enthusiasm encountered during their time here. This experience has not only enriched their academic journey but also created lasting memories and friendships, exemplifying the true spirit of Erasmus collaboration.
