Patricia Mordaunt is a lecturer on the BSc Optometry and BSc Ophthalmic Dispensing programmes at TU Dublin. She is also Co-programme chair and Practice education coordinator for the BSc Ophthalmic Dispensing Programme. Patricia is a member of TU Dublin’s Sciences & Health Faculty Board. Faculty Boards have responsibility for supporting and monitoring the implementation of University academic policies, the Education Model and the Quality Framework across the Schools and Programmes within the Faculty.

Brief Biography
Awarded the Diploma in Ophthalmic Dispensing by the Association of British Dispensing Opticians in 1999. Worked in private practice as a Dispensing Optician and Practice Manager in Ireland between 1999 and 2006. Patricia began a part-time academic role in DIT in 2001, and worked in the National Optometry Centre from 2006 until 2016 when she was appointed a full-time lecturer.

- Volunteer with Opening Eyes (Ireland) and worked on vision screening programme as part of the Special Olympics ‘Healthy Athlete’ programme World Games 2003.
- Member of Vision Aid Overseas- a charity dedicated to helping people in the developing world whose lives are blighted by poor eyesight, particularly where spectacles can help. It works by sending abroad teams of volunteer optometrists and dispensing opticians who set up clinics, screen large number of patients and provide appropriate spectacles.
