Biography

Graduated with first class honours from the DIT optometry programme in 1985. A registered Optometrist with CORU, a member of the Association of Optometrists, Ireland and the British College of Optometrists. Worked in private practice in Ireland & UK between 1985 & 2002. Shortly after returning to Ireland from UK in 1995 commenced part-time teaching on the optometry programme in DIT and was appointed a full time lecturer in 2002.

Currently coordinator for year 3 and Optometric Practice Placement coordinator, and lecturer in binocular vision. Established the Binocular Vision Clinic within the National Optometry Centre in October 2007. Has previously delivered post-graduate CPD lectures and workshops on the topics of accommodative and vergence anomalies and advanced clinical techniques to optometrists in TU Dublin and Unilúrio, Mozambique & in conjunction with Association of Optometrists Ireland.
