TU Dublin School of Food Science and Environmental Health Executive attend the presentation ceremony of the UN FAO Agricola Medal to President Micheal D Higgins
It was an honour for the Executive of the School of Food Science and Environmental Health to represent TU Dublin on the occasion of the awarding of the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation Agricola Medal to President Micheal D Higgins in a ceremony held at Áras an Uachtaráin on Friday 7th June 2024. The prestigious medal was presented by FAO Director-General QU Dongyu in recognition of the President's work advancing global food security and poverty alleviation.
It was a privilege to have a moment with the President to share with him the work being carried out in the School of Food Science and Environmental Health to advance food sustainability through our programmes and research, which focus on food safety and authentication, food waste reduction, and biotechnology for the bioeconomy including sustainable bioproducts and packaging.
