Celebrating World Pharmacy Technician Day 2024
On Tuesday, 15 October 2024, the Pharmacy Technician Studies Programme Team proudly celebrated World Pharmacy Technician Day by hosting Colin Mac Namee and Sarah McLoughlin from the Irish Medicines Verification Organisation (IMVO). They delivered an engaging and informative talk on the Irish Medicines Verification System (IMVS) and the Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD) to our Pharmacy Technician and Year-2 BSc (Hons) Pharmaceutical Healthcare students, as well as the staff.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our colleagues Dr Seána Hogan and Mary-Therese McGrath for organising this successful session. The insights shared during the event highlighted the critical of systems and legislation in safeguarding the pharmaceutical supply chain, ensuring safety from manufacturers to patients.
On this occasion, we would also like to wish all our pharmacy technician graduates and their peers worldwide a very happy World Pharmacy Technician Day. We express our sincere appreciation to all healthcare professionals for their invaluable contributions to the healthcare system and for maintaining high levels of safety for the public and patients.
