Bioeconomy Ireland Week event
An exciting day in the School of Food Science and Environmental Health in TU Dublin on Friday 20th October. We welcomed over 50 primary and secondary school students to our labs to learn about the Bioeconomy as part of Bioeconomy Ireland Week 2023. The bioeconomy refers to using renewable resources from agriculture, forestry and the marine to produce food, feed, materials and energy while reducing waste to achieve a sustainable and climate-neutral society. Students learned about active packaging, the future role of microalgae and the potential of food waste.
