Biography
Following graduation as a Medical Scientist from DIT, Dr Celine Herra was employed for over 14 years in the Diagnostic Microbiology Laboratory and the Clinical Microbiology Research Dept. in St James’s Hospital (SJH), Dublin. During this time, she completed an MSc in Biomedical Science and then extended her research interest in antimicrobial resistance and healthcare-associated infection in the completion of a PhD in Medical Microbiology, awarded by Trinity College Dublin (TCD). She was subsequently employed as a Clinical Scientist for five years in the Clinical Microbiology Dept, SJH. In 2007, she returned to DIT as a Lecturer in Medical Microbiology, and was appointed as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Biological and Health Sciences in 2016.
