Crown Paints Visit
A group of Phase 6 apprentices from the Painting & Decorating section of the School of Architecture, Building and Environment recently visited the Crown Paints Decorating Centre in Clare Hall. During the visit Johnny Byrne, Contract Sales Manager, demonstrated the latest range of products and innovations for the sector from Crown Paints. Speaking afterwards, he said, "It is always a pleasure to get to talk to the next generation of craftspeople in the trade.' As part of the visit, Patrick Byrnes of Premier Paint Roller, demonstrated the latest technology in brush and roller manufacturing."
Speaking about the visit, Mr Tom Lundy from the Painting Section, said, 'Our apprentices are about to finish their 4-year apprenticeship and are now thinking of perhaps setting up their own business. These industry visits provide the perfect opportunity for them to see the latest from one of the leading suppliers in the industry. It also strengthens the ties between ourselves and our industry partners.' On the same theme, Shane Kiernan, Clarehall Store Manager, mentioned the strength of the links that exist between Crown Paints and TU Dublin, 'I believe Crown Paints have been sponsoring and supporting Bolton Street for about 50 years. It is a history that we are proud of and are very keen to continue to be part of."
This visit follows the recent Ireland Skills competition in Painting & Decorating in the RDS, which was sponsored by Crown Paints.
