Are you interested in learning about the bioeconomy?
The School of Food Science & Environmental Health at TU Dublin is hosting an event where anyone can learn about the Bioeconomy and get some hands-on experience in one of the School's labs in the Central Quad on the Grangegorman Campus.
The events will take place on Friday, 20 October, in celebration of Bioeconomy Ireland Week, which aims to highlight and raise awareness of Ireland’s rapidly growing bioeconomy. The bioeconomy refers to using renewable resources from agriculture, forestry and the marine to produce food, feed, materials and energy while reducing waste to achieve a sustainable and climate-neutral society.
Attendees can try their hand at a range of food-related applications of the bioeconomy, including working in a Food Innovation Lab with food waste and hearing from researchers about the latest advances in bioplastics films and agricultural waste.
This is an all-ages event, but it might be of most interest to people interested in a career in sustainability or science.
When: Friday, 20 October at 10am, 11am and 12pm
Where: Central Quad, Grangegorman
